How are you today? I hope you're great!  MODERN MANNERS? is the title of this unit.But what are manners? MANNERS: A way of behaving that is considered acceptable in your country or culture. Let's begin this lesson by revising some phone language vocabulary.  1- Listen and match the phone sentences with the sounds: PHONE LANGUAGE  (audio) 2- Explain in your own words what these are: Skype- a screensaver - silent/ vibrate mode - quiet zones- instant messaging 3- We're going to read an extract from Debrett's guide to mobile phone etiquette. Welcome to our 17th lesson. Today we're going to begin unit number 4. Go to pages 34 and 35 in the Student's Book.  Think about this saying: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again" What does it mean? 1- Read the definition of BE ABLE TO. What other verb is it similar to? BE ABLE TO (DO SOMETHING) to have the ability, opportunity, time, etc, to do something : Will you be able to come to the meeting next week? YES... Welcome to our 16th lesson! Today we're finishing unit 3 with the Practical English section. 1- Watch Rob interviewing Kerry. What is she happy/ not happy to talk about? 2- Watch again. Mark the sentences T (TRUE) or F (FALSE). Correct the FALSE sentences: 1- Kerri's song is about love. 2- Kerri plays in a band. 3- She used to go out with a member of the band. 4- Only one of her parents was a musician. 5- Kerri started playing the guitar when she was six. 6- Her new album is very different from the previous ones. 7- She's been recording and touring recently. 8- She's going to give a big concert in New York. 3- Watch the conversation at lunch. Welcome to our 15th lesson! Today we're going to continue talking about stereotypes.  Let's go to page 30 in the SB.  1-   Read the beginning of an article about a book. Why did Neil Sinclair write it? In what way is it different from other books about bringing up (educar) children? 2- Listen to two men talking in the park about the book and mark the sentences T (True) or F (False). We're going to learn about dependent prepositions. What are they? They refer to prepositions which usually go right after certain verbs or adjectives to mean something in particular. If you use the same verb or adjective with a different preposition, the meaning is completely different.
